One of my favorite aspects of being in the mental health field is supervising therapists. Being a new therapist can provoke anxiety or feelings of self-doubt. Finding a supportive supervisor is important. This is not unlike finding a good fit with a therapist; you need to feel supported and safe while also being challenged. Engaging in supervision is not only required prior to licensure, it is an important tool therapists use to continue to learn and grow.
I am an approved supervisor, according to WAC 246-809-234 requirements. You may read about those requirements here: WAC Approved Supervisor
My fee for individual supervision for associates seeking their LICSW, LMHC and LMFT licenses is $150 per session. For those working in an agency, school, or medical setting where you are serving primarily uninsured, low-income, or marginalized populations, I keep a limited number of openings for reduced rates if needed.
